Race for Life Preston

We are proud to support pink and have pulled together a team to raise money for a great cause while making our way around the Pretty Muddy® obstacle course in Moor Park, Preston!  On the 10th June we doned our pink t-shirts and prepared for a 5k (just over 3 miles) like no other, all in the hope of raising vital funds for life-saving cancer research. Everyone has their own reason to Race for Life, please donate, it is never too late and together we will beat cancer.

Race for Life is all about spreading the love, and the mud!  We did not know what to expect from the course, but what we got was 5 kilometres of wet, muddy, slippery obsticles which made for some real fun and laughs along the way!

Well done team – a really inspiring and memorable day!

Importance of Post-Surgery Aftercare

Importance of Post-Surgery Aftercare

When thinking of having any kind of surgery, from breast uplifts or augmentation, a tummy tuck or liposuction, to rhinoplasty or labiaplasty; we get asked a varied and wide range of questions in our initial, complementary consultations.

When speaking to our surgeons, although it differs from patient to patient, the same, common questions are nearly always asked;

  • “Will the surgery hurt or be painful”
  • “How much will I scar from the surgery?”
  • “How large are the incision marks from the surgery”
  • “What shape or size can be achieved with this surgery”
  • “How long does the surgery take?”
  • “What are the risks of the surgery?”
  • “How long will my surgery last?

Whilst these are all vital and important questions to be asking, it seems it’s more uncommon for eager, prospective patients to ask or wonder about what happens after the surgery. Many will get caught up in the nervous excitement of fulfilling their ambitions to enhance their body, and often forget to ask about, or perhaps don’t think too much about, the post-op protocols, procedures and most importantly, the aftercare.

Aftercare at Red Rose Desire

Most of us will have heard about, or know someone that has gone for “Turkey teeth” haven’t we? Those who get a package holiday to Turkey, have fun in the sun, and return with bright white, perfectly straight teeth. Having any type of surgery abroad is known as ‘medical tourism’, an industry that is not only common but very much on the rise. It’s thought that surgery prices are cheaper, and with the added bonus of a holiday to go with it, clearly sways many into thinking it’s somewhat of a no brainer.  However, just as people forget to ask about aftercare in their consultations, they also forget to factor surgery aftercare into the decision to have their surgeries out of the UK.

Is aftercare really that important though?

We think one of the most important parts of getting the surgery you desire is down to highly skilled and trained surgeons, of course, but also how you treat and care for your body after the surgery.

A holiday and a surgery might sound like an ideal duo but cost-wise, if you factor all the extras like flights, transfers, hotels, food, special medical insurance etc. it can often end up costing you more than having it at home. More importantly, many have the idea that post-surgery they can relax around a pool, or by a beach, catching some sunshine whilst drinking a cocktail or two.

The reality?

Unfortunately the above scenario, albeit very wonderful sounding, is but a pipe dream when placing it after a surgery. Sun and healing / scarring do not match. It’s actually advised to avoid the sun completely, for at least 1 or 2 weeks, as the sun’s rays can cause irreversible damage and discolouration to the surgery scars (which nobody wants after investing in a life changing surgery.

Even if you can manage to avoid the sunshine, post-surgery, you’re going to want and need to rest and recuperate. Whatever surgery you have, big or small, your body has gone through trauma and change, and it needs time to settle back into itself, for weeks, or even months. Yes, you can stay in a hotel and do your healing time there, but many prefer their home comforts; their own bed, own sofa, preparing their own house and making things easy to reach, their own food, and importantly, their friends and family around to help them. Plus, once you have to leave to go home from your holiday, you’re going to be faced with busy transfers, airports, planes, sitting for extended periods in discomfort, which in turn could also pose as a risk of infection.

What kind of cosmetic aftercare is needed and is it really that important?

Expert aftercare after surgery is absolutely crucial, and for this reason we would always advise against surgeries abroad as, even if you have the very best surgeon in the world doing your surgery, you aren’t then able to go back and see them for important check-ups or advice. You’re going to need follow up appointments which allow the surgeons to check all is going ok, to remove stitches, as well as answering any questions or worries that you may have.  Also, if something goes wrong, which is rare but could happen, you’re not going to want / or perhaps be able to jump on a plane every time you need to see your surgeon. In our opinion, this post-op support should be available at all times, for a lifetime after your surgery.

For us, not only do we offer free consultations pre-op, we also offer a lifetime aftercare programme, included, as standard.

This means that whenever you have even the smallest of queries or worries, you can call us for professional advice, any time; days, months, or even years after your surgery. If there are any issues with the surgery itself, the surgeons will always be there to speak or see you too.

We believe that when it comes to your body and health, is the cheapest option always the best? Is there a price on your body, or health?

Breast Surgery Consultation and Pricing

Breast Surgery Consultation and Pricing

Did you know that women around the world, from all cultures, nations and backgrounds, have been interested in breast enhancements for centuries, with the first one being attempted in the late 1800’s? It was of course a rocky start as surgeons, or the people performing any sort of breast enlargement didn’t have the science, the education, the products or the facilities that we have today. Even so, women were eager and willing to try anything for a more pert looking breast. From injecting paraffin that eventually went hard and lumpy to injecting extracted tissue from the stomach and buttocks, which eventually just absorbed into the body, it’s said that things such as animal cartilage and even wool were tried to enhance breasts. Unfortunately, most of these attempts failed, and many were fatal.

Breast Implant Surgery

This didn’t steer women away from the yearning for bigger, rounder, more shapely breasts though. The first silicone breast implant surgery was said to be performed in the 1961, closely followed by the first breast augmentation in 1962, with saline implants then being introduced in the mid 60’s in France. This obviously opened up a whole new era of safer cosmetic surgery, albeit not as common as it was today. It seems women were perhaps not as forthcoming with admitting surgery either. It’s still to this very day widely debated that Marilyn Monroe had breast enhancement surgery, something she always denied, yet many professionals have countered.

Seven decades on from that first silicone implant, millions of breast surgeries have been safely performed. We have come a very long way from those many initial dangerous and failed attempts to enlarge breasts in the late 1800’s. Hundreds of thousands of women, men and non-binary people enquire about breast surgery daily. Nowadays it isn’t just to enlarge either. You can add, downsize and reduce, reshape and augment all kind of breasts, you can even create breasts where there once were none.

As one of our most popular surgeries, we get 10’s – 100’s of enquiries and questions around breast surgery, weekly. Whether it’s for medical reasons, for transitioning reasons, or simply to help with low self-esteem and confidence, there really isn’t a one surgery fits all. Due to each and every individual having different reasons, different shapes, different sizes, different needs, it’s imperative that you get to speak to a surgeon, the one that would be performing your breast surgery, so they can expertly, medically assist and advise with your choice. You may want a breast enlargement, but the surgeon may actually suggest a breast uplift for instance, or perhaps you would like a breast enlargement, but when you meet the surgeon, it may be the case that your frame is too small for your desired size.

This is why, as standard, we offer completely free consultations with our surgeons. This is so you have the opportunity to meet the person who will be doing it, but also to gain invaluable advice from these highly skilled medical professionals.  It gives you the opportunity to ask all the questions you need to make an informed decision about breast surgery.

Below are the most common questions that people like to ask at their breast surgery consultations, so if you are booked in for one soon, or are planning on booking in, make a note of this page as reference;

  • What type of breast surgery or procedure is right for me?
  • Is breast enhancement safe? What are the risks?
  • How do I prepare for my breast surgery?
  • What kind of implants will you use for my breast enlargement?
  • How long does it take to perform / recover from breast surgery?
  • How long will my new breasts last?
  • Can I still breastfeed safely with a breast enhancement?
  • Will I lose sensation in my breasts or nipples?
  • Do implants affect mammograms / detecting breast cancer?
  • Are breast enlargements painful?
  • Are you (the surgeon) fully qualified and accredited?
  • What does your aftercare include?

It is only natural at this initial stage for women to feel nervous, even anxious about the process, the surgery itself, the aftercare and more. Many will have a hundred and one more questions than the above, and that’s totally fine. We want you to feel at ease, in good hands, and safe in the knowledge that this is completely normal and very common when choosing to have breast surgery.

Our patients

The main initial enquiry is mainly to do with price, as people understandably want to know if they can afford it before taking the next step to a consultation, even if it is free of any charges.

Here at Red Rose Desire, we want our pricing structure to not only be easy, but transparent too. Even though there is no one size fits all breast surgery, we offer a set one-time payment of £5200.00. This price is the final price too, no extras, no ad-ons, no hidden charges before or afterwards. The price is fixed and includes all of your appointments, pre-checks, the procedure itself (regardless of the size of your implant) full aftercare and post-surgery checks.

Our aftercare is also not just for the post-surgery checks either, like many others. We offer an incredible aftercare package, which is valid for life. Allowing you to be safe in the knowledge that at absolutely any time after your breast surgery, days, months, even years later, you can always get in touch with us.

If you feel ready, and maybe even a little excited to get your breast surgery journey started, you can book your free consultation with one of our surgeons now. Contact us via telephone, by email, or through our website.

Uplifting our breasts, and our lives!

Uplifting our breasts, and our lives!

Breast Uplift Surgery

We recently wrote an article about how breast reduction cannot only be life changing, but lifesaving too. This statement can often be more widely justified because having breasts too large for your frame can understandably cause medical and mental health problems alike.

But can we say the same for breast uplift surgery and breast enlargement surgery? These cosmetic procedures aren’t seen as medical necessities, but so they make a big difference and should they be?
Small, aging, saggy breasts do not tend to cause physical pain or discomfort, and for this reason the NHS wouldn’t ordinarily cover breast uplift or enlargement surgery. This would only be granted or considered by the NHS on very rare occasions such as;

Reconstructive purposes – their breast is missing, damaged or affected by an illness or injury such as breast cancer removal or mastectomy. Perhaps their breasts have been adversely affected from birth with a defect or tissue damage etc.

Psychological deterioration purposes – for the NHS to approve a breast uplift surgery, it needs to be very apparent that a person’s mental health is at severe risk and is being negatively affected by their breast situation. This could include those whose breasts differ significantly in size, or those who have lost large amounts of weight and their breasts are sagging immensely, due to the loss of fat and tissues in their breasts.

If it’s so hard to get a breast uplift surgery on the NHS, surely, it can’t be seen as life changing, or lifesaving if it’s not for the extreme medical reasons above?

From our experience in the breast uplift and augmentation surgery field, we would actually disagree.

Uplift Cosmetic Surgery

We see people from all walks of life, of all ages, all races, all background and situations. They come and see us for breast uplift consultations, daily. Every single person that we see has different reasons and motives for wanting to enhance their breasts through breast uplift surgery.

The reasons are never-ending, but some of the most common reasons are;

Different sized breasts

Most people’s boobs are different sizes, but this can vary from slight to significant. Just because the NHS doesn’t deem your size differentiation as substantial enough, doesn’t mean that it won’t cause you discomfort, embarrassment or feelings of self-consciousness. It can be super hard to get bras / bikinis that fit, and clothes can also often not fit correctly when there is a large difference in breast size too.

Aging or saggy breasts

Saggy breasts can happen for a number of reasons and it’s completely normal and common for women globally. It’s a natural process of aging when our collagen and oestrogen supplies begin to diminish, our skin loses its elasticity, and gravity starts to take hold of our once pert breasts. Sometimes, this process can begin sooner however, when a person goes through extreme or rapid weight loss / weight gain, has multiple pregnancies and therefore many hormonal changes, and even smoking can cause breasts to sag. When this happens early, or at all, it can be the cause of severe lack of body confidence, making women not want to wear bikinis or lingerie, and it can affect their sex lives due to confidence in the bedroom too.

Misshaped breasts

Just like breasts can come in different sizes, they can also be, or become, mis-shaped. One could sag more than another, or weight gain / loss could cause them to change shape too. Once again, this can cause a person to feel a lack of body and breast confidence.

Although the case for some, most people we see don’t come looking to get a breast uplift surgery simply for aesthetic reasons. Nearly all surgery clients we speak to are feeling in some way negative about their bodies and breasts, which in turn is affecting their minds.

If you don’t feel confident in certain clothes, in bikinis or lingerie, especially if you don’t feel confident in the bedroom, it can really affect the way we feel inside. How many times have you had a spot or gained a little weight and felt bad about yourself? We can surely all relate to that? Yet those things can come and go, and can also be worked on / controlled with exercise, cosmetics, health and diet etc.

Crescent Breast Uplift

When our bodies change for what we feel is for the worse, and it isn’t something we can naturally change or work on, it can have an adverse effect on our mental health. Feeling unlike ourselves, lacking in confidence and self-worth, not loving the skin that we’re in can really take its toll psychologically.

If we can gain this confidence back by improving and uplifting our breasts, by augmenting them to a shape and size we feel more comfortable and self-assured in, this can surely have a life changing effect?

If we felt so low when we didn’t feel ourselves, so out of character, if we didn’t want to have sex with our partners due to embarrassment, if we didn’t want to go on holiday because we weren’t confident enough to wear bikinis…could we not go as far as saying that if we had corrective surgery for, and to fix these reasons, it could not only be life changing, but lifesaving too?

Corrective breast surgery, breast uplifts, breast enlargements and even breast reduction can all help to make a person feel more like themselves, to be who they really are. We help 100’s of women, men and non-binary people change their lives every day by consulting and completing these surgeries.

If you are looking to change, or indeed save your life, please come and see us for a free breast uplift, breast enhancement surgery, and we can certainly help.
