Mr Amar Deshpande is calm, gentle and a highly experienced, well-respected NHS breast surgeon, popular amongst our patients.
He graduated from the B Y L Nair Hospital, Mumbai (affiliated to University of Bombay), after which Amar trained as a Specialist Registrar in General Surgery subspecialty Breast Surgery at Birmingham.

Mr Amar Deshpande has also completed a fellowship in breast reconstructive and cosmetic surgery (Oncoplastic Fellowship). He was appointed Consultant Breast Surgeon at WWL in January 2010. As the Clinical Tutor for the University of Edinburgh, Amar is involved in assessing and supervising the MSc projects, as well as being the examiner for MRCS examinations.

Outside of surgery, Amar Deshpande enjoys listening to classical music and is also a talented singer himself. He also enjoys trekking and has completed many trekking expeditions in the Himalayas and one in the Alps.
